So, how should I begin...
Well, for starters an invitation from some very talented women in my life. This trip to the mountains was their third annual creative weekend away or retreat as I should call it! Two days of uninterrupted, no kids hanging off our legs, relaxing time to focus on our craft. In my case, everything photography related and setting up a business plan, Jen's amazing paintings, and Erin's love for writing.
I was able to take some stunning portraits while practicing with my Fuji camera remote.
We cooked together, drank wine and had a wonderful time being surrounded by such inspiring people. We finished the last day in Canmore, wandering through art galleries sipping on coffee and wondering what was going to happen in our future. Well...It must have been the push we needed.....
I ended up planning and executing our first holiday mini photography session for RIB Studios at an amazing venue called Loft 112 in the East Village www.loft112.org. Well, not by myself! My amazing husband and business partner played a huge part in making this shoot come together! I couldn't have done it without him and his support and encouragement. Also, a shout out goes out to my friend Tanya for all of her help and everything she has taught me so far. Thank you!
Jen worked on several paintings finishing four on the weekend and now has some of her paintings on display and for sale at a local shop in Calgary called Ollie Quinn www.olliequinn.ca.
Erin finished the first draft of her children's picture book, took on some poetry and has been working as part of a Story Teller Collective for ATB where she works.
Thank you to these two beautiful ladies! I am really looking forward to our next adventure together. xo
